ChemDiv’s PD-1/L1 Focused Library contains up to 500 compounds.

PD-L1 (Programmed Death-Ligand 1) is a protein expressed on the surface of various cells, including some cancer cells. It binds to the PD-1 (Programmed Death-1) receptor, which is found on the surface of T cells. This interaction is a crucial pathway in tumors, making them evade the immune system. PD-L1 binding to PD-1 sends an inhibitory signal to the T cells, reducing their ability to attack the tumor cells. This mechanism is often activated in cancer cells to protect themselves from the immune response, leading to disease progression.

Targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway has become an emerging field in cancer drug development. Drugs known as immune checkpoint inhibitors have been developed to disrupt this interaction. These drugs either target PD-1 (on T cells) or PD-L1 (on tumor cells or other cells in the tumor microenvironment), blocking their interaction. By doing so, they release the “brakes” on the immune system, allowing T cells to effectively attack and destroy cancer cells.

Drugs targeting PD-1 and PD-L1 have shown significant success in treating various types of cancer, including melanoma, lung cancer, and kidney cancer. They have revolutionized cancer treatment, possessing high efficacy in certain cancer types that are resistant to the currently used therapeutics. ChemDiv provides a unique library of compounds with confirmed PD-1/L1 inhibiting activity and drug-like properties.
